这首歌由乐队贝司手Dee Dee Ramone于1976年写下，讲的是一个绿色贝雷帽突击队员用剃刀把一名男妓杀害了，并被警方通缉（真实情况不得而知）。歌名直指在上世纪70年代至90年代时期纽约曼哈顿红极一时的男妓红灯区，当时这地方被称为“the Loop”是纽约市同志们夜生活的聚集地。而如今那地方已建起了一坐教堂。在2002年Metallica翻唱了这首歌，同年Ramones乐队被收进了摇滚名人堂，并被Spin杂志评为史上最具影响力的乐队第二名，仅次于甲壳虫乐队。
